Donna Loucks developed a fondness for the outdoors as a child who spent her summers in Glacier National Park where her father was a seasonal ranger. While attending Washington State University, she met her husband-to-be, who was studying forestry. After she received her Master of Library Science at University of Pittsburgh, they married and moved to Centralia/Chehalis where Bryon began a forestry career with Weyerhaeuser Company. A year later she was hired as a Forestry Librarian for Weyerhaeuser Company, a job she held for twenty-eight years. They purchased their first piece of forestland in 1979 and their second in 1987. Together they spent over forty years developing and managing an award-winning tree farm and sharing it with others through numerous tours. Both have been involved in WFFA and the Lewis County chapter since 1979, and after an early retirement, Donna increased her involvement by becoming state Membership Chair in 2000, a position she still holds, and working on the WFFA web site.
