What is the Washington Farm Forestry Association?
Thirty eight percent of our country’s forests are stewarded by small forest landowners. These landowners may have five acres or a few thousand, but all work to make their forest the healthiest it can be. This can be a challenge! So the Washington Farm Forestry Association gathers these landowners to share passion and knowledge. WFFA also negotiates with state and federal lawmakers to promote good forest practices.
Our members manage their land for timber, other forest products (mushrooms, maple syrup, cedar boughs, etc.) for wildlife, fish, recreation, and aesthetics. We have fifteen local chapters around the state, which host educational programs and tours of each other’s forests.
WFFA is a non-profit 501(c)(5), non-governmental association which is guided by a 28-member Board of Directors.
Our 1,300 family memberships manage over 150,000 acres of forest land in Washington. Forestry professionals and interested individuals who do not own forest land are welcome to join.
