2024 Western Washington Forest Owners’ Winter School

What: 

Winter School is the classroom counterpart to our summer field days. Designed to let you attend multiple workshops all in the same day, the Winter School will help you address challenges on your property, restore healthy forest conditions, and achieve your goals.

Whether you are a novice to family forestry, or your family has owned land for many generations, there is something new for everyone to learn.

Topics covered include:

  • Forest health in western Washington
  • Wildlife habitat enhancement
  • Fire risk reduction
  • Forest road maintenance
  • Native trees
  • Seedling selection and planting
  • Invasive weed control
  • Climate change
  • Variable density thinning
  • And more!

 

Date and Time: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024.

Location: Cedar Hall at at Green River College, 12401 SE 320th St, Auburn, WA 98092.

Cost: The registration fee is $20 per individual or $30 per couple from the same household/ownership. Youth under 18 are welcome and may attend at no additional cost.

Box lunches are available for $15 each and must be ordered in advance.

Pre-registration is required. Registration will not be available on site. The registration deadline is 5:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2024. Cancellation requests must be received by 5:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2024 to be eligible for a refund. Eventbrite processing fees are non-refundable. Cancellations of mail-in registrations may be subject to a $10 processing fee.
