Steven D. Stinson Leadership in Natural Resources Scholarship

The WFFA Scholarship in Natural Resources was started in May 2014 with a generous donation from Port Blakely Tree Farms in celebration of their 150th anniversary. Shortly thereafter it was named the Steven D. Stinson Leadership in Natural Resources Scholarship in honor of Steve’s extraordinary contributions to the small forest landowner community.  Additional generous contributions made in Steve's name by individuals, chapters, and raffle proceeds from the 2015, 2016 and 2017 WFFA Annual Meetings have allowed us to create a perpetual scholarship fund that supports our core beliefs as Stewards of the Land, For Generations to Come.

We are currently accepting applications for the 2018 Steven D. Stinson Leadership in Natural Resources Scholarship. Please click here to view the Scholarship Announcement. Completed application packets must be emailed or post-marked by March 1, 2018.

The 2017 Steven D. Stinson Leadership in Natural Resources Scholarship was awarded to Erik Kemp.  Erik, son of Bill and Janet Kemp of Newport, is in his year at Brigham Young University, pursuing a degree in Wildlife and Wildlands Conservation.

Knowing that he would not be able to attend the scholarship award ceremony at the 2017 WFFA Annual Meeting due to work obligations, Erik produced a video to express his appreciation for receiving this scholarship. You can see that video here:

Donations to the scholarship fund are always welcome.  Make your check payable to WFFA with a note that it is for the Stinson Scholarship Fund, and mail to WFFA, P.O. Box 1010, Chehalis, WA 98532.
