At the WFFA Annual Meeting in Spokane in May 2026, Ken Miller was presented with the first Hanson-Fox award, in recognition of his many years of service to WFFA and all small forest landowners. Ken worked for years on a template for small forest landowners and when that door was finally closed, he continued the fight to get 90% compensation for riparian buffers that must be left instead of the original 50% compensation.
The award is named after two larger-than-life past WFFA members, Nels Hanson and Sherry Fox, whose commitment and leadership continue to inspire the organization. Read more about Nels and Sherry here
