Every day, elected officials in Olympia and Washington, DC make decisions that aim to sustain the forests in our state. WFFA is the voice for the small forest landowners in these discussions. Our staff and members advocate for fair taxation and regulation to ensure that family forest landowners can continue to manage their land across generations.
Recently we were able to get two WFFA sponsored bills passed. This was in part because of grassroots efforts from our leadership and members. Many members gave testimony in support of these bills.
Nora Palattao Burnes represents WFFA as a lobbyist in the Washington Legislature. Her reports track bills of interest to small forest land owners, and the upcoming schedule for hearings on bills of interest.
