Tour of the Custer Creek Tree Farm

WHEN: Wednesday, August 16, 2017, 5:30

WHERE: 2943 State Hwy 6, Frances (Raymond), WA 98577 (approximately 17 miles east of Raymond)

WHAT: The Pacific County Farm Forestry Association is having its August
Twilight Tour at Bob and Lynette Falkner's Custer Creek Tree Farm in Frances. The Custer Creek Tree Farm was the 2003 National Outstanding Tree Farm for the American Tree Farm System. The tour will start at their home with a brief history of the farm that has been in Lynette Habersetzer Falkner's family since 1888. We will then proceed out the old railroad mainline through a stand of 100+ year-old Douglas Fir. After leaving that stand we will follow a road re-route that was an NRCS project due to a road scouring and then into the Project Learning Tree area where the Falkner's "show and tell" folks/kinds who visit about different parts of the woods. This location includes thinning, native plants, bugs, increment boring, FFFPP bridge project with the state and EQIP pet
work.

Light snacks and water/beverage will be provided.
