2011 WFFA Annual Meeting Tour at the Pomeroy Farm

On April 16, as part of the Washington Farm Forestry Association Annual Meeting, a tour was held on the Pomeroy Farm near Yacolt.  Bob and Jane Brink manage the property, which has been in Jane's family since 1910.  They have about 500 acres of timber which is managed for a sustainable harvest of about 10 acres per year.  They also host 3000-4000 school children each year at a living history demonstration of a 1920's farm.

2010 WFFA Annual Meeting Tour at the Hama Hama Tree Farm

On April 25, as part of the Washington Farm Forestry Association Annual Meeting, a tour was held on the Hama Hama Tree Farm along Hood Canal.  The Hama Hama Tree Farm was the 2008 Washington State Tree Farm of the Year.  After the tour, attendees learned about the Hama Hama Seafood Company and its oyster business, then enjoyed a catered dinner.

2009 Annual Awards Luncheon

On May 29, the Washington Tree Farm Program Annual Awards Luncheon was held at Ellensburg.  Commissioner of Public Lands Peter Goldmark assisted in presenting the Tree Farm Inspector of the Year award to Robert Burns and the 2009 Washington State Tree Farmer of the Year award to Stan Mueller, co-owner of the Mueller-Sack Tree Farm.

2009 WFFA Field Day at the Wanechek Tree Farm

On May 30, as part of the Washington Farm Forestry Association Annual Meeting, a field day was held on the certified Tree Farm of Larrin and Helen Wanechek near Cle Elum.   Three demonstrations focused on "Soils and Healthy Forests", "Fires and Healthy Forests" and Measurements and Healthy Forests".
